Ceramic Knives And Insulated Tools

by Kitchen Utensils on January 6, 2010

Most of us already know what ceramic knives are simply because they have become very popular in our kitchens and have been on television a lot. They are stronger, sharper and require less maintenance than our usual knives.

But thanks to their wonderful abilities, ceramic knives are not used in kitchens. Their use has become quite broad and it has almost become a standard to use ceramic knives for scuba divers because they cannot rust underwater.
They are also used for roughly the same reasons by people working in the cable installation industry.
On top of not rusting when in contact with water, they have the huge advantage of being nonconductive and nonmagnetic.
The innovation in this case though lays in the fact that the handle of the knife is insulated so that the risk of being electrocuted is reduced. It has become, alongside Arc flash protection like arc flash clothing and arc flash PPE, one of the most commonly used piece of equipment for its strength and nonconductive ability. Those knives have become as useful as insulated scissors or insulated pliers.
Even if all those tools are insulated, it is important to always carry a burn care kit and arc suppression blankets in case something happens.

Those insulating ceramic knives usually include various features like a specific ceramic blade shape made from ceramic and composite material to ensure that it is absolutely nonconductive.
Because it is often to cut strong elements like cables or ropes, the blade is very sharp and has a blade with an obtuse angle which means it is much stronger than other knives. In order to give it added strength and support, the whole body is injected with technical polymer.
On top of being made of nonconductive material, the handle is contoured and also has a slip guard for a better grip to prevent any problem like the slipping of the knife.

All knives obviously come with a blade guard to prevent any accident or any problem when they are not being used but also for a safer storage.

It is very interesting to see all the uses that can come from a knife that most of us only know in our kitchens. Like a lot of elements used in our everyday life, they can also be used for their strength in different situations. A lot of things we use today actually come from military or industrial technology.

How to Design and Create Sitemaps?

by Kitchen Utensils on January 5, 2010

A sitemap is a representation of the architecture of a web site. It can be either a document in any form used as a planning tool for web design, or a web page that lists the pages on a web site, typically organized in hierarchical fashion. This helps visitors and search engine bots find pages on the site.

In general, there are two types of sitemaps:

1. The first type of sitemap is a HTML page listing the pages of your site – often by section – and is meant to help users find the information they need.

2. The second sitemap is XML Sitemap – usually called Sitemaps, with a capital S – are a way for you to give Google information about your site. This is the type of Sitemap we’ll be discussing in this article.

There are following types of the sitemaps also according to contents:

a. Video Sitemaps

b. Mobile Sitemaps

c. News Sitemaps

d. Code Search Sitemaps

e. Geo Sitemaps

Creating a Sitemap

In general, there are two types of sitemaps. The first type of sitemap is a HTML page listing the pages of your site – often by section – and is meant to help users find the information they need. While this type of sitemap can help both visitors and search engines navigate your site, it’s different from an XML Sitemap that can be submitted to Google using Webmaster Tools.

XML Sitemaps – usually called Sitemaps, with a capital S – are a way for you to give Google information about your site. This is the type of Sitemap we’ll be discussing in this article.

You can create a Sitemap in a number of different ways:

Manually create a Sitemap based on the Sitemap protocol

Use the Sitemap Generator

If you have access to your web server and it has Python installed, you can use our script to create a Sitemap that uses the Sitemap protocol. The Google Sitemap Generator is a Python script that creates a Sitemap for your site using the Sitemap Protocol. This script can create Sitemaps from URL lists, web server directories, or from access logs.

Use a third-party tool. A number of third parties offer tools you can use to create a valid Sitemap.

To create a Sitemap based on the Sitemap protocol:

Create a text file and save it with a .xml extension.

Add the following to the top of the file:

Add the following to the bottom of the file:

Create an entry for each URL. The tag is required; the others are optional.

http://www.example.com/

2005-01-01

monthly

0.8

Upload your Sitemap to your site. Then submit it to Google using Webmaster Tools.

Submitting a Sitemap

The first time you submit a Sitemap to Google, you must submit it by adding it to your Google Webmaster Tools account. This enables Google to provide you with useful status and statistical information.

From your account, you can see if there are problems with your Sitemap or with any of the URLs listed in it. If you are adding a Mobile Sitemap, you must specify the markup language for the URLs contained in the Sitemap.

You can also tell Google and other search engines about your Sitemap by including the location of the Sitemap in your robots.txt file. We still recommend that you submit your Sitemap through your Webmaster Tools account so you can make sure that the Sitemap was processed without any issues, and to get additional statistics about your site.

It’s Not Hard to Say Thank You

by Kitchen Utensils on January 3, 2010

Saying the words “thank you” is one of the first lessons a child must learn by example at home. Showing gratitude and making it a habit is a trait that can take one anywhere. Politicians, actors, and musicians say these words in every speech delivery possible. Why would they not when they will be nowhere close to where they are without their supporters and fans.

Pronouncing these two words does not have to be verbal all the time. A flower delivery accompanied by lavender tea bags in the afternoon is a good way to thank your editor for staying up all night, proofreading your manuscript to the last word. Kids show appreciation to their favorite teachers by giving them the juiciest and reddest apple, their mom’s infamous brownies, and drawings of their entire class by the school garden complete with multi-colored butterflies and doodled flowers. While they are crossing their fingers for monetary bonuses, staff members usually just get pizza and pasta from their bosses for bagging a new client.

It is especially beneficial to show gratitude in romantic relationships. The habit of frequently thanking your partner or as they say, being “romantically polite”, not only shows your appreciation but it also boosts his or her ego overtime. In addition, when you thank your partner for even the simplest gesture, the cheapest gift, or just for giving you a casual complement, it cues him that you liked what he just did or gave. This will definitely go down in this mental notebook as the things that please you and he in turn will do it more often.

Your options on how to say thank you, as a romantic partner is almost bottomless. Flowers and chocolates are and have always been good thank you tokens. Giving his dog a bath or bringing his car to the carwash is will guarantee a good karma. Handing the remote over during season finals and not talking during the game might sound silly but this will go a long way to some men.

Since gratitude is relative, saying or showing thank you can also be overdone. The key is to keep the delivery of your appreciation in the same or just a little over the gravity of the gift or gesture you have received. The only exception to this rule that I can think of would be saying thank you to your parents, your brother’s heart transplant donor, or the woman who gave you three beautiful children that you can just look at the whole day.
